Why attending school every day matters
Every day your child learns something new. Every day they build on what they know. What they learn today is the foundation for what they need to learn tomorrow. That’s why attending school every day is so important.
Research by the Telethon Kids Institute found children who attend every day generally do better at school. The more children attend, the more they learn, the more they achieve. This creates more opportunities for their future.
We encourage you to support your child to attend every day. If you need any help, please let us know or visit the Department of Education’s attendance website Attendance – Department of Education
Absences
If your child is going to be absent from school, please advise the school as soon as possible. If you are planning on taking your child on holidays during the school year, you will need to write a letter with the dates your child will be absent from school to be approved by the principal.
Late arrivals
When a student arrives after the 8.45 am morning bell, they MUST come through the front office to collect a late pass. If students don’t come through the front office, they will be marked as absent and parents will receive a text message asking why their child isn’t at school.
Picking students up early
If you need to take your child out of school during school hours, you will need to come to the front office to sign them out and collect a leave pass to give to their teacher. If you do not have a leave pass, the teacher will not release your child.
School Office Hours
The front office is open Monday – Friday from 8.00 am – 4.00 pm.
